Our Story

A family legacy
of passion.

In-Dish is more than a restaurant \u2013 it is an invitation to discover Indian cuisine with new eyes and palates. Founded by Sufian, a passionate restaurateur of the second generation, who wholeheartedly connects creative culinary art with traditional flavors and modern influences.

80s – 90s

Sound of Music… begins in the Alps

Our story has its gastronomic beginnings in the Gastein Valley at the Laderdinger Hof. This is where everything began: with hearty cuisine and finest locally prepared farm dishes – so convincing that even Falco and Pavarotti were enchanted by it.

90s – 2000

Lasciatemi Cantare e I cuochi cusano

From the Gastein Valley, the Italian inspiration leads us to Ristorante–Pizzeria Antonio in Zell am See. Here we also dared to introduce our ‘Indian Weeks’ for the first time, which conquered both palates and local newspapers. Even a Bollywood film crew stopped by.

2007 – 2017

Basmati – The Origins

At the foot of the Areitbahn with a view of the Kitzsteinhorn, we opened the first Indian restaurant in the region: Basmati. We brought authentic Indian cuisine to the Alpine region – seasoned with familial hospitality and traditional recipes from home.

2018 – 2024

Indian cuisine – newly interpreted.

The young generation combined decades of experience with international inspiration from Brazil, the USA, England, and the Middle East – and a new concept was born: In-Dish. We were the first to modernize Indian cuisine in Vienna. From the Federal Chancellor to Bollywood stars to Iron Mike – everyone is thrilled.

2025

In-Dish – Redefined.

The modern backdrop gives way to the charm of an Old English Style Bombay Café. In-Dish is establishing itself as a key player in the Vienna gastronomy scene. We are increasingly hearing the phrase: “If Indian, then In-Dish.”
